From controlling satellites to crafting sonic landscapes, MS Reasoner has built a life defined by curiosity and profound artistic expression. Raised in Monterey, California, and now based in Maryland, Reasoner’s story takes an unexpected turn in the late 1970s at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Working as a satellite command controller, they developed a sharp eye for structure and a deep appreciation for the vastness of human connection.

In 1980, Reasoner traded the technical world of aerospace for the boundless realm of the written word. This decades-long literary devotion led to the 2024 release of their poetry book, Looking at You Sideways. Yet, parallel to their writing, music remained a lifelong calling. Ever since their early work debuted on Washington D.C.’s WWDC FM in 1982, Reasoner has been dedicated to sonic experimentation, blending a rich history of poetry and technical precision into a distinct musical footprint.
